I recently had the pleasure of tasting a new five year old pot still brandy thanks to the folks at Sumsare wines, this was quite an interesting experience, what stood out the most for me here is that it displayed characteristic of brandies far older than 5years old.

NOSE: Fruity, muscat(raisin) , floral notes(couldn’t quite put my finger on it), citrus zest
PALATE: Citrus translated from the nose, strong candied fruits, light hints of vanilla.
FINISH: Exceptionally smooth for a five year old far beyond its years. All in all a great brandy experience.
